about

The fourth track written for the EP. I watch loads of TED Talks, it would even be fair to say that weeks will pass and that's all I will listen to or watch in that time.

I find the idea of the end of the world fascinating and it's what most of my songs are about. I'm obsessed with the notion that everything I love or even despise could disappear in a heartbeat. Indulge me by letting me tell you where I believe this obsession started.
When I was nine, I was given a book on the practice of Magick and Magicians in Western history. Absolutely enthralled by it, I read and re-read it countless time over many months. One night, late for my patterns of the time, I happened across a chapter that had somehow escaped my notice on the subject of Nostradamus. Brought up as a devout Christian I was understandably terrified by his predictions regarding the end of the world, I ran crying to my mother, asking why God would allow the world to end in such a horrible way, which would doubtlessly cause untold suffering to many millions. She answered by saying Nostradamus was not a 'real' prophet and that the only real prophets were included in the Bible, which Nostradamus, I had to admit, was not. Her words failed to comfort me and I did not sleep that night. My small world did begin to end there, as that was when I began to question my religion and understand that there was a world outside of Christianity. The continuity of my consciousness was disturbed and from then on I was living in a brand new world, both exciting and terrifying.
